Original title: Ach śpij, kochanie
Year 1955 in Krakow, Poland. Police officers are brought to a hospital by a doctor, who was treating a man complaining about headaches. The X-ray revealed that in fact the had a bullet in his head, although says no one shot him. But under pressure from the police, he admits that a man named Wladyslaw Mazurkiewicz might have shot him. The patient won some money in Zakopane and while they were driving back to Krakow, he fell asleep and a loud bang and pain in the back of the head woke him up. Mazurkiewicz told him that it was just a prank and the bang was from an explosive cap. While the officers try to gather some info about Mazurkiewicz, they soon learn that he is a well-known figure in Krakow and has some powerful friends. What is more, all of the police records of Mazurkiewicz somehow got misplaced somewhere between the police archives and the prosecutor offices. With each step of the way, the officers feel that they have a possible killer in making, but "handsome Wladek", as Mazurkiewicz is being called, is untuochable.
Film based on a true story of a Polish serial killer, Wladyslaw Mazurkiewicz, a gambler and a well-known figure in Krakow elites, who for at least 10 years managed to be undetected, while killing people for personal gains. While the story could have been told in many ways, the one chosen by the creators is, unfortunately, not the best possible. The film balances between a loosely drawn documentary and a criticism of a communist past of Poland. It lacks atmosphere, lacks pace and, what is worst, lacks any sort of mystery that would drawn the viewer to watch it further.

Serial killer
While it is almost certain that Wladyslaw Mazurkiewicz was a serial killer, the number of his victims is unknown. The estimates vary between 6 and perhaps even more than 30. The process, in which he was sentenced to death, had political undertones and Mazurkiewicz said that his confessions were obtained by beatings and torture, but survivors of some of his attempts to kill people, testified against him.
